The Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards 2026 are open for entries – the closing date is 5pm on 17 October 2025.
The gala ceremony will take place at the InterContinental Dublin on 19 April 2026, as part of the Professional Beauty & Hair 2026 show weekend.
With 13 categories in total, you can enter one or more – and it is completely free. If you are struggling with putting your entry together, read our handy 10-point guide to making it stand out from the competition.
1 Show your passion. Make sure the judges know how much you love your profession and care about winning.
2 Don’t be afraid to boast. Big up yourself and your business. Think about what makes you proud, what your clients love about you, and put it in your entry. How else will the judges know you deserve to win?
3 Think substance over style. If you are worried you are not good enough to enter, ignore that voice and just do it. You don’t have to have a big and expensively-decorated salon to get the panel’s attention. Every business has a personal story and that is what the judges want to hear, because every story is different.
4 Explain the full process. The details matter, so make sure you explain the whole client experience to the judges and include areas such as the consultation, hygiene, aftercare etc.
5 Choose the right pictures. Pictures make a big first impression so be sure they look well. They don’t have to be professionally shot, but you need to look professional in them.
6 Shout about qualifications. Include all recent courses/training and show your commitment to CPD.
7 Be creative and use the full word count. Don’t write a one-sentence answer to a question that says you’ve got 200 words. Use that full word count to really show your passion.
8 But also use bullet points and be concise. Bullet points are great for catching the judge’s eye. Reread you answers also and take out any sentences that are repetitive.
9 Don’t rely on AI. The judges can tell if you have just pasted from ChatGPT. Do not go down this road if you want to stand out and be unique.
10 Remember your website and social channels. Make sure they look professional and, most importantly, are up to date with recent content or news about your business.
