Phorest leads Dublin beach clean-up for Plastic Free July

Updated on 26th Jul 2025

Phorest returned to Bull Island in Dublin recently for its annual beach clean-up in support of Plastic Free July.

In partnership with Clean Coasts, the salon software company’s team from its Dublin HQ joined forces with industry friends and salon customers to help protect and preserve Ireland’s coastline.

Clean Coasts is the nationwide programme dedicated to protecting Ireland’s waterways, seas, and shorelines. Its expert support ensured a safe and impactful clean-up that cleared litter from the Bull Island beach and surrounding dunes, while also educating participants on the impact of plastic waste and the steps individuals and businesses can take to reduce it.

The Phorest initiative, now in its second year, forms part of the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community action. With plastic pollution continuing to threaten marine life and the natural beauty of Ireland’s beaches, it said that the event was a meaningful way for the hair and beauty industry to take collective, hands-on action.

Phorest’s broader sustainability mission includes reducing waste through its software features, such as digital consultation forms and receipts; supporting circular economies via its partnership with Green Salon Collective and the Green Fee; and offsetting its own emissions through tree-planting and carbon-neutral initiatives.
