Calling all hairdressing assistants and juniors to enter the PB/HJ Awards!

Professional Beauty/Hairdressers Journal Ireland presents the Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards on the evening of Sunday, 6 November in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, as part of the annual PB/HJ show weekend, which is being held in the RDS.

There are 16 categories in total – eight for beauty and eight for hair, split to recognise business and creative skills – and all entries will be judged independently by industry experts, who are selected for their knowledge and expertise.

Among the hair categories is Assistant/Junior of the Year, which is open to any junior or assistant who has been in training for a maximum of three years up to the end of July 2022.

Finalists in this category will be required to attend a virtual interview, which will be held on Wednesday, 21 September or Thursday, 22 September 2022.

To enter, we would like to hear why you should win via a 90-second video filmed on your phone. We want to know why you chose hairdressing as your career and what are your aspirations for the future.

We also want to hear about training you have received from the salon you work in, and what have you gained from this training. And we’d like to know who you admire and why; and if you’ve been involved in any shows or salon promotions and, if so, what role you played in them.

You will need to upload two photographs showing your creative skills, and include a short description of how you achieved each look. In addition, you will need to upload three testimonials, along with copies of any training certificates.
