A Co Clare salon offered discounts on false tan to mark US President Donald Trump’s recent visit to Ireland.

Trump flew into Shannon Aiport on 5 June following a three-day visit to the UK.

Riverside Hair & Beauty made its tan deal announcment on social media and it was valid until 8 June.

The salon is four miles away from Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Doonbeg, which is owned by the US president and is where he stayed while in the country.

Riverside’s premium Bellamiantia spray tans cost a reduced €20, with staff members dressing in American-themed uniforms for the occasion.

According to media reports, the salon’s owner said the spray tan offering would be promoted given that Trump himself “always has a lovely tanned glow”. With a range of tan intensities available, the number five was being called “the Donald”, she added.
