Five-star Druids Glen sold for €45m

The five-star resort is located on a 349-acre site in the north of Wicklow and prior to this was owned by three Irish families: the Lappins, Hurleys and Flinns.

Along with a range of facilities, The Spa at Druids Glen provides seven treatment rooms offering a variety of treatments, each designed to leave guests feeling revitalised and rejuvenated. It welcomes any requests for tailored treatments or times and guests can also enjoy the facilities in the Druids Glen Health Club, which overlooks the grounds and features an 18-metre swimming pool, a jacuzzi, sauna, plunge pool and steam room.

The Neville Hotel Group already owns and operates the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire, the Tower Hotel in Waterford City and the Kilkenny River Court Hotel.

“We are delighted to add Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort to our portfolio of hotels,” said director of the Neville Hotel GroupTherese Neville.

“This acquisition marks our fourth hotel and first golf course for the group. We are looking forward to investing in the property in the future to ensure its status as one of Ireland’s most iconic resorts.”

The new owners will continue to run operations as normal with involvement from Therese Neville, together with former manager of Dun Laoghaire’s Royal Marine Hotel Aidan Ryan as interim general manager.
