Highlights from Professional Beauty and HJ Live Ireland 2018

Beauty therapists, hair professionals, nail technicians, make-up artists, salon owners and managers travelled from across the country to enjoy two days of live demonstrations, education, and new product launches.
HJ Live Ireland
2018 saw the second year of HJ Live Ireland, hosting some of Ireland’s leading show teams who showcased their latest collections on the HJ Live Stage. Alongside brands such as Karaal and Post Quam and the show welcomed new exhibitors including Keune, Gainfort Salon Design, Milk-Shake, Takara Belmont and Electric amongst others.
Colleges
In association with ITEC & VTCT, Professional Beauty and HJ Live Ireland launched initiatives to support colleges throughout Ireland who travelled to the show. These include half price coach travel, discounted education and a networking event for Lecturers.
Live Stages
Five live stages offered education for visitors from live demonstrations to practical business advice.
On the Warpaint Make-Up stage visitors enjoyed demos from industry experts including Maria Malone Guerbaa and Ellie35x, while the Trends and Treatments stage featured Lash Lifts vs Lash Extensions from The Beauty School and a Bridal Nail demo from Kinetic Nails.
The Advanced Treatments stage offered education for therapists who are looking to expand their treatment menu and included sessions on Microneeding, Dermaplaning and Micropigmentation.
The Business Skills stage offered practical advice for salon owners and managers, from social media and the power of video to increasing your retail turnover without discounting.
The HJ Stage featured creative and innovative demonstrations including Intercoiffure’s Guillaume Team and Mark Woolley and Sean Dawson of Electric.
Championships
The Irish Nail Championships returned for 2018, with some of Ireland’s most creative nail technicians competing to be crowned winners. To find out more and see the winners click here.
The Lash Championships and the HJ Hair Championships launched at the show this year – giving both students and professionals the opportunity to compete against their peers to gain industry recognition. Both events hosted some amazing talent and we look forward to seeing them grow in future years.
Organiser Mark Moloney said ‘We’ve been delighted with the positive response from our visitors at this year’s event. It’s paramount for us to provide the engaging content, professional brands and top education to celebrate the best in beauty and hair. With so many consumer events it’s important for us to focus on our professional visitors and look at how we can best support the growth of the industry in Ireland.’
Thank you to all of the visitors, speakers, exhibitors and competitors that travelled to the show. We’d love to hear your feedback and if you have any suggestions of speakers, brands or features that you would like to see for next year.
