PB World Salon Business Forum speakers revealed

Powerful leadership, lean business plans, social media, positive PR and affordable sustainability are among the key themes at the upcoming Salon Business Forum, which is taking place as part of the international online event PB World on 28 February–2 March.

The beauty and hair business conference is just one of the free education streams running during the international online exhibition. Over the three days, the conference will deliver training and discussion on the hottest topics in beauty and hair salon business management. Each day will cover operations, marketing, trends and people management.

The sessions will be a mix of panels and keynote addresses, with a line-up of speakers that includes leading salon owners from across Ireland, the UK and internationally.

  • Lockdown lessons: how these leading salon owners created a leaner business plan. Speakers include: Terri Clarke, managing director of PB Award-winning salon chain Simpsons Beauty Group; and Jordana Cobella, owner of Cobella, London. 
  • The new social media tools to use in 2021. Speakers include: Jack Howard, colourist and BHBA Social Stylist of the Year 2020-21; and Gareth Williams, hair educator and session colourist.
  • Sustainability doesn't cost the earth: practical and affordable ways to run an eco-friendly salon. Speakers include: Kirsty Kianifard, owner of founder of Uniquely Organic Ecospa in Sussex and wellness business coach; and Karine Jackson, owner of Karine Jackson Sustainable Hair Salon, London.
  • The passive income stream: get serious about online sales. Speakers include: Metta Francis, award-winning nail tech and founder of Nails by Mets; Kate Woods, hair and beauty digital consultant; and Sarah Mason of Sarah Mason Professional, Ireland.
  • The new customer experience: the changes to make in your salon this year. Speakers include: Liza Smith, owner of Bodylines in Kent; and Corey Taylor, owner of NOCO Hair, Bristol.
  • Powerful leadership: how to motivate a team through unpredictable times. Speakers include: Kay Pennington, group spa director of Aqua Sana at Center Parcs and PB Awards Leader of the Year; Colin McAndrew, managing director of Meduse Hair; and Gary Rom, owner of Gary Rom Hairdressing, South Africa.
  • 2021 goals: the business changes to make now. Speaker: Hellen Ward, managing director of Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa in London and regular PB columnist.
  • Positive PR: how you and your business can get featured in the media. Speakers include: Louise Wood, founder of LWPR; and Adam Reed, former British Hairdresser of the Year.
  • Wellbeing matters: Techniques to look after yourself and your team. Speakers include: Sam Pearce, mental wellness advocate and founder of support service Low Ears; and Tom Chapman founder of The Lions Barber Collective.

As well as the business conference, Professionalbeauty.World will also host a technical and creative programme, with demos and treatment advice from top international practitioners.

The event is not just conference-style education, as attendees will also be able to network and connect with one another and with our expert speakers via video call or text chat.
