Sisu opens first outlet in the North

The Belfast branch is part of a multimillion pound global expansion programme as Sisu is set to open a further four UK clinics in Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle by the end of this year, in addition to a third Dublin outlet.

It also has clinics in Cork and Kerry.

Co-founded by tech entrepreneur Pat Phelan, along with brothers Brian and James Cotter, Sisu specialises in non-surgical injectable treatments such as Botox, lip and dermal fillers. The company has ambitions to become the top global brand in aesthetics and has invested £250,000 in its new Belfast premises.

“Belfast is No 1 in Google Trends in Europe for lip fillers, dermal fillers and Botox,” said Phelan. “Statistically it's the No 1 per capita in Europe, which is very surprising for us. Interestingly the Republic is up there, but nothing like Belfast.”

Phelan also believes there is room for further expansion in Belfast through his company’s in-house teeth whitening service – Sisu Smile.

“We’re going to offer that in Belfast, but we do see the opportunity, especially in the UK, to roll out Sisu Smile as a standalone.”

Meanwhile, it’s not just women who are attending Sisu’s clinics, with men now making up 30pc of the clientèle.
