The Salon & Spa Owners' Convention 2017
The Salon & Spa Owners’ Convention took place last Sunday 24 September at the RDS, Dublin, alongside Professional Beauty Ireland.
The theme of the convention ‘The Salon of the Future’ provided a strong emphasis on staying ahead of the trends in customer spending, technology, product development, marketing and retail. Aimed towards salon owners and managers from both the beauty and hair industries, the convention featured speakers with a wealth of industry knowledge, who shared their advice and experiences of the industry.
Sessions included ‘Futureproofing your finances’, ‘The new wave of social media’ and ‘The client of the future’ and featured panel discussions from speakers such as Hellen Ward, Managing Director of Richard Ward Hair & Metro Spa, Charlotte Bradshaw, Managing Director of Dylan Bradshaw and Kieran Fowley, Director of Zen Lifestyle.
Connor Keppel of Phorest Salon Software joined the panel of ‘The new wave of social media’, offering his advice on measuring success of platforms and adjusting your social plan to your target market, whilst Tara Moore, Spa Manager of the award winning Galgorm Resort & Spa and Chloe Madden, Group Manager of Oslo Beauty discussed trends in product and treatment development in 'The client of the future' session. Valerie Delforge, Business Consultant and former Head of Spa for Steiner and Becky Woodhouse, CEO of Pure Spas joined Hellen Ward of the panel of 'Futureproofing your finances, where they discussed cutting costs and investing in your business.
The key note speech was delivered by Sharron Lowe, Success Coach, Speaker and author of ‘The Mind Makeover’. With over 25 years of industry experience, Sharron has been the go-to success coach for global luxury and beauty brands including Chanel, Estee Lauder, L’Oreal and Lancome. Sharron is a great believer that our minds’ are our greatest business asset, and her session focussed on taking control and programming your mind to release your full business potential and get optimum results and success.
