Chleo is celebrating its 40th birthday this year, with the Dublin-based beauty and skincare distribution company undergoing a rebrand and launching a new website.
Founded as Chleo Enterprises by Katharine Hurley in 1984, the business started out as a beauty therapy clinic within Hurley’s family home, where she offered various beauty classes, with a strong focus on epilation.
After noticing a gap in the Irish market for quality beauty and skincare products, the first brand Hurley brought to Ireland was Perron Rigot, with her initial order being for 72 pots of wax. Over the years, Chleo Enterprises added Sothys, DMK and Artdeco to its brand portfolio.
Hurley’s daughter Nicola Mealia joined the company in 1998, and took over with her brother Richard Hurley in 2014 when their mother retired. In 2016, the business moved to its Ballymount premises, which includes a warehouse, training facility, a showroom and offices.
Now rebranded to Chleo, Mealia said they are poised for an era of growth and innovation. “Earlier this month, we launched our new website, designed to offer our clients and potential clients the best possible experience. It provides an intuitive journey, ensuring that accessing our collection of beauty and skincare products is as smooth and enjoyable as ever.
“We have also rebranded to Chleo to signify an exciting new chapter for the business. Our new logo reflects our forward-looking approach, with its contemporary aesthetic and streamlined design. We can’t wait to see what the future holds. Here’s to many, many more years of doing what we love!”
