Dublin-based facialist Agnes Gajewska has launched her own skincare brand.
The first product in the Óige by Agnes line is Peptide Elixir, which combines advanced peptides, brightening actives and antioxidant protection to target firmness, fine lines and uneven tone simultaneously.
Gajewska, who is marking 25 years in the beauty industry, works in Essentials Beauty & Skincare Clinic and Planet Beauty in Brown Thomas in Dublin, and is known for her facemodeling treatment. She also runs her Sculpt Pro Face training for professionals, and Face Yoga by Agnes classes and workshops.
Gajewska says she wanted to create effective and affordable skincare products, and it took two years to achieve the correct consistency during the development period.
“After 25 years in the beauty industry, I knew what I wanted,” she explains. “Óige in Irish means youth, and that really connected to my way of thinking about the ageing process.
“Because our order was under 10.000, none of the factories here wanted to deal with us, and it was very difficult to find ones abroad. I really wanted our production to be in the EU. We found a small factory eventually, but they would only produce the actual product. For the packaging, we had to use two separate companies – one for the bottle and one for the box. So it’s not easy to launch a product. It probably is if you have lots of money, but it’s not if you are a small business.”
Peptide Elixir is now available online and in Essentials also, and as part of its launch Gajewska is holding in-person workshops in The Sandymount Hotel in Dublin.
She also has plans to expand the range in the future. “My second product is at the trial stage and I am hoping to have it out before the summer.”
