Irish Hairdressers Federation represents hairdressing industry in Brussels
Committee member and former president of the Irish Hairdressers Federation (IHF) Lisa Eccles recently represented Ireland and the IHF at a European gathering on sustainability in the hairdressing sector, which was held in Brussels.
The event was hosted by UNI Europa and Coiffure EU, the EU social partners in personal services.
UNI Europa represents workers in the personal services sector, including hairdressing, while Coiffure EU is the European association of employers’ organisations in hairdressing.
The two bodies bring professionals, experts and industry leaders together to foster cooperation, share best practices and tackle common challenges in the European hairdressing industry.
Eccles took part in key panel discussions, presenting on behalf of the IHF. She highlighted the efforts Irish salons are making to build a more sustainable industry, including responsible product use, energy efficiency, and the integration of sustainability into education and training.
According to the IHF, her presence in Brussels is a reminder of the strength of Irish representation in shaping the future of our industry across Europe, and her contributions ensured that the challenges and progress of the Irish hairdressing community were heard clearly at a European level.
It said it is proud to see Irish leadership helping drive positive change for a safer, healthier and more sustainable future in hairdressing.
