Irish start-up The Smooth Company is partnering with Peter Mark to stock its products in 14 salons, as well as online.
The Smooth Company was founded in 2022 by Aine Kennedy, who spent eight years working in the beauty industry and getting an entrepreneurship degree, before investing all her money into her company.
Having identified a gap in the market for a solution to smooth flyaway hair, The Smooth Company's first invention was the Smooth Stick.
Nearly two years in the making, the taming wand and flagship product is formulated with ingredients such as biotin, vitamin E and aloe vera, all of which promise to both nourish the hair, while keeping it in place.
With all her finances poured into the company in the beginning, Kennedy had little left over for marketing, so her grandfather Billy helped with some TikTok promotion, helping the business go from strength to strength.
Kennedy's sister Eimear is also involved and is The Smooth Company's business development and marketing executive.
As well as stocking the Smooth Stick, Peter Mark is also offering other products from The Smooth Company, including The Mane Master smoothing hair brush, and the 4 in 1 Smooth Styler Professional Styling Comb.
According to Kennedy, launching in Peter Mark is a “pinch me moment”.
“It's genuinely a dream come true to be stocked in Peter Mark salons across the country, true experts in the hairdressing field for over 60 years,” she said.
“Our products have always been for everyone, from hair pros to hair novices, so we are excited to continue working with the exceptional Peter Mark team to educate and engage customers old and new. The Smooth Stick also recently launched in the UK, where it is available on Sephora.co.uk.
