Jacqui and Sean O’Sullivan are set to host the Nail Competitions at Professional Beauty & Hair, which is taking place at the RDS in Dublin on 19-20 April.
The husband-and-wife-team are widely regarded as guiding figures within the nail industry, known for their commitment to education, standards and professional integrity. With decades of experience, they have helped shape qualifications, competition guidelines and standards.
They have spent their careers supporting nail professionals at every level, from new students to elite competitors.
“We’re constantly talking about nails and make-up, our students, and competitions – it’s a constant conversation,” says Jacqui.
Their journey began nearly 30 years ago, driven by a desire for proper training at a time when formal nail education barely existed. That passion for doing things the right way continues to define their work today.
Jackie and Sean’s involvement in competitions grew through judging and mentoring, where they saw first-hand how competing elevates skill, precision and creativity. “Competitions push people beyond salon work and show them what’s truly possible,” says Sean.
Through mentoring, many of their students have gone on to become winners, industry leaders, and educators themselves. “Sharing knowledge freely is how the industry grows,” adds Jacqui.
As hosts of the Nail Competitions at Professional Beauty & Hair 2026, Jacqui and Sean bring a competitor-first approach, focusing on high standards, clear guidance and meaningful feedback. Their goal is to ensure that every competitor gains value from the experience, whether they place or not.
With their experience and passion for developing talent, the O’Sullivans are set to deliver an Ireland competition that inspires, educates and raises standards across the industry.
