Aimee Connolly named Image Young Businesswoman of the Year

Irish make-up entrepreneur Aimee Connolly has been named Young Businesswoman of the Year at the Image PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2022.

The awards, which celebrate Ireland’s businesswomen, were back after a two-year break due to Covid-19.

Connolly is the owner and chief executive of cosmetics business Sculpted by Aimee. Following a number of years working as a make-up artist, the Dublin native founded her brand in 2016, with the aim of creating products she believed were missing from the market.

Starting out with eight staff, that number now stands at 15, with the business shipping to over 20 countries worldwide. Along with an extensive make-up range, Connolly runs an academy and masterclasses, and offers a special Sculpted Pro Programme for its growing make-up artist community in Ireland and the UK.

Connolly won the top prize in the Emerging category the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards at the end of last year.

Meanwhile, Platinum Hair Extensions’ Onagh O’Driscoll was named as a runner-up in the Young Businesswoman of the Year category, while Ground Wellbeing founder Peigín Crowley was named as a runner-up in the Start-Up of the Year category.
