Aimee Connolly wins EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Irish make-up entrepreneur Aimee Connolly has won the top prize in the Emerging category the recent EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

She was one of 24 finalists selected for this year’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards across three categories.

Connolly is the owner and chief executive of cosmetics business Sculpted by Aimee. Following a number of years working as a make-up artist, the Dublin native founded her brand in 2016, with the aim of creating products she believed were missing from the market.

Starting out with eight staff, that number now stands at 15, with the business being on track to accomplish revenue of €8m this year. It also ships to over 20 countries worldwide.

Along with an extensive make-up range, Connolly runs an academy and masterclasses, and offers a special Sculpted Pro Programme for its growing make-up artist community in Ireland and the UK.

“I am very focused on international growth and replicating the loyal community we have created here in Ireland in other markets,” Connolly told The Irish Times. “It takes time and significant resources, but that is where I concentrate my efforts. I am also working on expanding the range with well-thought-through additions that make sense to the brand’s story and ethos.”
