Calling all talented and creative hair colour technicians!

The Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards are back for 2023, with the gala ceremony taking place in the InterContinental Dublin on 12 November.

With 14 categories across beauty, hair and spa, among the hair categories is Colour Technician of the Year. Entering this exciting category will spark your imagination, creativity and passion, and give you a unique opportunity to showcase your talent to the industry.

Open to all qualified hairdressers who work in a commercial environment and have done so for a minimum of three years, excluding training, Colour Technician of the Year entrants must have a regular client column, which means working in a salon for a minimum of one day per week.

Among the requirements for your online entry is a video of your shoot. This needs to be a 360-degree video of each model before any work and on completion of the final look. This can be done on a mobile phone.

We also require four final portrait, full colour, high-resolution photographs of the same model's hair after colouring. Pre-edit images must be supplied with an after shot of each model before any post-production/ retouching, while before images are also compulsory.

You will also need to complete our standard questionnaire for each look, which can include additional photographs to demonstrate details of the process, such as texture, porosity, previous colour applications and other relevant information.

The before and after photographs, together with the technical explanations for each shot, should be uploaded with your entry. Please ensure that you upload each before photograph and after photograph in the same order as the questionnaire so that they can be clearly identified during the judging.
