Demand for e-commerce website course sees second added

A ‘Creating & Maintaining an E - C ommerce Website’ course for salon owners is taking place on 27 and 29 April and 1 May.

This is the second time the online course is being run as the first one, which took place after Easter, sold out. It is being taught by SureSkills Executive & Management Training. Consisting of three three-hour sessions, including a Facebook support group, the cost is €60 for Image Skillnet members and €87 for non-members.

The course is based on the premise that it’s become almost impossible to run any sort of salon business without an effective online presence – something that is probably truer than ever now as businesses have been forced to temporarily close during the Covid - 19 crisis.

According to Image Skillnet, customers or potential customers will expect to be able to visit your website to easily get information about the business and its people, and will look for reviews and testimonials, staff bios, pictures and imagery, and descriptions of treatments and services, deals and promotions, and products for sale.

Those taking part will learn how search engines and SEO works and how this impacts upon your website; how to audit an existing website; how to use WordPress to create
and maintain a website for a business; how to use WooCommerce and WordPress to create an e-commerce website; and how to grow online sales.

It also covers areas such as video, blogs, how to write website copy and do digital and content marketing, and looks at the differences between DIY websites and hiring a
website designer.
