Easydry marks a range of sustainability milestones

Easydry has announced that it has passed its FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) recertification audit and is celebrating 10 years of chain of custody certification.

The Irish-owned company launched its compostable, disposable towel product almost 20 years ago.

FSC certification means that a company is manufacturing from ethically and sustainably managed forests. It also means that the company does not participate in illegal logging, child labour, forced labour or discrimination.

The FSC is an independent, not-for-profit, non-government organisation that was established to support environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests.

Easydry has FSC certification for its product and entire supply chain, meaning every step of the process has been externally audited and certified.

“I saw 10 years ago that this coveted external certification was a great way to show that Easydry was focused on sustainability and human rights,” said Easydry founder and CEO Anne Butterly. “This is still is a priority for us today. We are incredibly proud to have achieved this certification and retained it for 10 years.”

Easydry is also celebrating its 10-year carbon footprint anniversary after first measuring it a decade ago when it looked at the entire life-cycle of its disposable towels. And the company is now certified as suitable for Home Composting, a newly launched standard that is certified by TUV Austria.
