Expressions of interest open for National Hairdressing Apprenticeship

The National Hairdressing Apprenticeship has announced that expressions of interest are now open for the November 2023 intake.
Employers can submit their application by visiting hairdressingapprenticeship.ie and completing the relevant form.
Validated by QQI in September 2020, the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship in Ireland is a minimum of three years in duration, and intends to provide the industry with some stimulus in recruiting new apprentices to a career in hairdressing, with a nationally-recognised qualification.
It is aimed at school leavers who have completed their Leaving Certificate; early school leavers who have at least two years full-time experience in a salon; or mature applicants who wish to pursue a career in hairdressing or change their profession.
The training takes place on a day-release basis for students, placing them in the salon environment for a further four days under the guidance of a salon mentor.
Employers must submit separate expression of interest forms for each applicant, and submission of one does not obligate an employer to participate on the apprenticeship programme, or guarantee an applicant a place on it.
On submission of the form, employers will be contacted by the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship administration to verify details and provide further information on the programme. Subsequently, employers will be contacted by a teacher/instructor to arrange an on-site visit to review salon facilities and services, supporting employers in the processing of the application.
