Festive greetings from all at PB/HJ Ireland

While it’s hard to believe that it’s Christmas again, and another extraordinary year is nearly over, the Irish hair and beauty industry is in a much better position than it was in 2020.

The current Covid-19 situation remains uncertain, however, salons and spas have been reopened without interruption since May, and are currently enjoying a pre-Christmas rush. The sector has retained its exemplary health and safety record since the onset of the pandemic, adapting as necessary to the changed working environment.

It’s been our pleasure over the course of  2021 to publish six issues of PB/HJ Ireland, both in print and online, along with our weekly newsletter. It’s been such a busy year, despite the lockdown during the earlier months. From new salon openings and expansions, to product innovations and ongoing education, the Irish hair and beauty industry has continued to grow and evolve.

Talent and creativity were showcased across the board by a wide range of awards, including the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award, L’Oreal Colour Trophy Award and the IHF Championships. Meanwhile, a number of Irish spas, such as Adare Manor and Ashford Castle, were recognised on the global stage.

We are thrilled to confirm that our own inaugural Beauty, Hair and Spa Awards will take place in Citywest in Dublin on the evening of 6 November 2022, as part of our show weekend. With the event being held in a brand new venue, it is organised by the team behind the Professional Beauty Awards and the British Hairdressing Awards, and will recognise beauty, hair and spa professionals for their business acumen and creativity. After numerous lockdowns and the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are so excited to showcase and celebrate the exceptional standards within the industry in Ireland.
