The new Irish wellness brand Ground Wellbeing has announced a partnership with Fota Island Resort in Cork.

Ground Wellbeing was founded in 2020 by spa consultant Peigín Crowley, who is a co-founder of the Irish Spa Association. Crowley trained as a therapist over 20 years ago and when on to launch the Elemis spa brand into the Irish market. She has developed a number of award-winning spas, including Adare Manor and The Merrion Hotel.

When the spa projects Crowley was working on last year were paused due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she decided to create her own range of wellness products, including bath salts, hair oils, face masks and balms, and body oils.

Made from pure botanical vegan ingredients that are pesticide-free, all products are naturally sourced and organic where possible. Each one is hand-crafted using traditional methods, and made by Crowley in small batches in Cork.

Initially launching in Brown Thomas and online, the brand is now expanding into spas, with Fota Island Resort being the first partnership.

Crowley said that the new Ground Wellbeing spa treatments at Fota have been created for clients to celebrate the importance of taking space for sacred moments to mind themselves and be minded, and to reconnect to source and replenish.

The spa at Fota Island Resort is reopening on 17 May, following the Covid-19 lockdown.
