Lisa Eccles has been appointed the new president of the Irish Hairdressers Federation (IHF) at the industry body's annual general meeting, which took place on 2 May.

Eccles takes over from outgoing president Danielle Kennedy.

Owner of Zinc Hair & Beauty in Dublin, Eccles has served as vice-president of the IHF for the last three years, and the IHF committee said it was delighted to welcome her into her new role, and wished her a successful and fulfilling tenure.

Eccles said that she is deeply honoured to be stepping into her role as IHF president, noting the “positive position it’s in, thanks to all the hard work Danielle Kennedy has put in over the last number of years”.

She added that she is “in awe of the phenomenal work, commitment and leadership that Danielle gave to the role” and is “excited to continue on that work and lead the IHF, as it celebrates its 50th-year anniversary next year”.

Eccles will be supported by Mark O’Keeffe, who has now taken on the role of vice-president. O'Keeffe is the owner of Sugar Culture Hairdressing and Beauty Group.
