IHF Championships 2022 take place in Kilkenny

The annual Irish Hairdressers Federation (IHF) Irish Hairdressing Championships took place in the Lyreth Estate in Kilkenny on 9 October.

The event, held in person for the first time since 2019, saw hair stylists from around Ireland being honoured in a range of categories.

Among the winners on the night was Martha Galvin, owner of Allure Hair & Beauty in Co Mayo, who was awarded IHF Irish Hairdresser of the Year.

Tiegan Neary, also of Allure Hair & Beauty, won the IHF Irish Trainee Hairdresser of the Year, along with wins in the Fantasy-Junior and Extensions categories.

Meanwhile, Paul Stafford from Stafford Hair in Belfast received an Icon Award, as did John Keegan from The Academy Barber, Co Kildare

The  IHF Star Team 2023 was also announced, following a competition that opened earlier this year.

The new member are Anita Gillick, Unique Hair Design, Monaghan; Zoe Moore, The Hair Space, Galway; Jennifer O’Keeffe, Alison Hehir Studio, Kilkenny; Caoimhe Feeley, Salon2, Sligo; and Kelly Murray, Cut Social Dublin.
