IHF sets junior stylists a lockdown challenge

The Irish Hairdressers Federation (IHF) is currently holding the Junior Stylist Lockdown Challenge, which is aiming to keep entrants motivated while the Covid-19 restrictions are still in place.

With the current lockdown set to last until at least April, the organisation wants junior stylists to stay as inspired, driven and enthusiastic as they would be when working in the salon.

Created by the IHF Star Team, the competition is open to juniors at any level, who are still undergoing their training.

Featuring five themed categories – Missed Occasions, Festival, Date Night, Seasons and Favourite Decade – applicants can enter as many as they want by posting their creations on social media.

The hair styles must be completed on a mannequin head, on the entrant themselves, or on a member of their household. Before and after photos must be included in the post, while the caption must include the reasons the entrant choose the particular category.

The competition is open until 5pm on 19 March, and a winner will be chosen from each category. Prizes include Alfaparf Milano and Schwarzkopf Professional products, and sessions on L’Oreal Professionnel’s Foundation Skills Series.
