Image Skillnet holding finance workshop series

The second series of Image Skillnet’s Figuring Out Your Finances Workshops is being held from 30 March to 20 April, following a sold-out first series.

Taking place on Zoom, the course will run as a two-hour webinar every Tuesday for four weeks.

Aimed at helping salon owners to gain a better understanding of their business finances, the series is headed up by Marion Kane, owner of She Means Business, who is a chartered accountant and fully qualified make-up artist.

Designed to inform the basics of finances for the salon owner, and to demonstrate how financial information can be used to facilitate effective planning and decision-making, Kane created the webinar series for Image Skillnet. It is suitable for anyone who is starting their own hair and beauty business, and also anyone who already has an established business.

Topics covered in the course include introduction to finance for the salon owner; business structure; budget – uses and how to prepare using Excel; pricing considerations; cash management; overview of compliance and taxes; business owner considerations as an individual; and goal setting and KPIs.

The series promises to give participants an increased understanding of their business’s finances; an improved ability to hold informed discussions about their finances with third parties; an increased confidence in making business decisions; and knowledge around practical steps to critically assess their businesses and to build simple finance functions for them.
