Irish hair and beauty industry to create sustainability strategy

Image Skillnet and Change by Degrees are working on creating a new sustainability strategy for the hair and beauty industry in Ireland.

The strategy will include information on the issues that lie ahead that are relevant to the sector, along with actions that can be taken, which will be easy to introduce into salons and spas.

Change by Degrees is a team of experienced sustainability experts, who partner with businesses and organisations to deliver sustainable solutions to help them increase their value, reduce costs, maximise employee satisfaction and meet their regulatory requirements.

Ireland has a target to reduce carbon emissions by 51% by 2030, and to achieve a climate-neutral economy by 2050. To do this, businesses are being encouraged to invest in a greener future, through sustainable products, services and business models, with a major emphasis being put on reducing emissions and promoting sustainability in the workplace.

In order to create a sustainable strategy for the hair and beauty industry, Image Skillnet wants salon businesses and spas to take part in a survey so it can gather appropriate feedback and information. The survey is available on Image Skillnet’s social media platforms.
