Taoiseach Leo Varadker has confirmed that Phase 3 and 4 of the road map for reopening the country are currently under review and subject to change.
This means businesses such as hairdressers and beauty salons could have their reopening date accelerated.
Under the current road map, salons are listed in Phase 4, which means they are scheduled to reopen on 20 July.
The Irish Hairdressers Federation, along with other trade organisations such as Habic and the Hairdressing Council of Ireland, this week published guidelines for reopening, which it has presented to the Government. The industry believes the comprehensive measures outline in the document make it safe to reopen in Phase 3, which would be 29 June.
