Irish MUA launches YouTube channel aimed at over-40s

Irish make-up artist Nichola Graham has launched a YouTube channel specifically aimed clients who are over 40.

Ur Makeup Pro features advice on products and techniques to help with a range of issues, including uneven skin tone and texture, and changing eye shapes, such as hooded eyes.

Graham has over 20 years’ experience in the beauty industry. She began her make-up career in the UK in the early 1990s, when she worked as a stylist, photographer and make-up artist for a number of new bands on the EMI and Warner Brothers labels. She went on to open her own make-up artistry school in Dublin.

She is also the author of Ur Makeup Industry, a make-up career guide aimed at professional make-up artists, students and beauty salons offering make-up services. Featuring information on training, education, putting together a make-up kit and creating a portfolio, it also includes tips on how to set up your own business.

“I'm 46 now; I don't have perfect skin, and I don't have the perfect eye shape, face shape or lip shape,” said Graham. “And I know that so many women out there are the same. What I do have is over 20 years of make-up experience. I know what the power of make-up is, how it can make you look and feel.

“My channel is for anyone, but will particularly appeal to the over-40s. I don't use filters in my videos, and they are full HD. It's a no-drama channel that focuses on products in a positive way. What may not work for me may work amazingly for someone else.”
