Irish salon and spa industry contributes €540 million to economy
There are approximately 4,000 salons and spas in Ireland, which contribute €540 million annually to the Irish economy, according to new research.
The figures come from Phorest Salon Software, which conducted the research to highlight the true value of the industry.
The research also discovered that €34.2 million worth of vouchers were bought in salons in 2016 and that an average of 600,000 bookings are made in salons every month (7.2 million bookings per year).
Phorest estimated that there are 4,000 salons and spas across Ireland, and that the average age of an Irish salon client is 36.9 years old.
Phorest chief executive Ronan Perceval said: “The salon and spa industry is one that often gets overlooked. Its activities and its contributions to the economy do not gain as much media attention or coverage as its industry counterparts”.
To help its salon accounts to raise their profiles, Phorest has launched the #30Day2Grow campaign, taking place througout the month of July. It designed to help salon owners grow their businesses, revenues and average bills through a series of daily challenges.
