Irish spa hotels among winners at recent global awards

A number of Irish spa hotels have been honoured at two recent global industry awards.
Ashford Castle has been named Best Hotel Spa in Ireland at the World Spa Awards 2021 for the sixth time.
Founded in 2015, the World Spa Awards reward excellence in spa and wellness tourism. Establishments enter the awards themselves, and once a shortlist has been created industry, experts are invited to vote online for their top picks.
Ashford Castle’s spa features five treatment rooms, a Hammam, a steam room and a relaxation pool. Overlooking the lake surrounding the castle, it also includes a salon and a gym.
Meanwhile, other Irish spa hotels were honoured at this year’s World Travel Awards, including Adare Manor, which was named as Ireland’s Leading Hotel for the fourth consecutive year.
“After an immensely challenging year for the tourism and hospitality sectors, it is a wonderful honour to have been voted Ireland’s Leading Hotel by a popular vote of industry professionals and the all important public vote,” said general manager of Adare Manor Brendan O'Connor.
“Though this is our fourth successive win at the prestigious World Travel Awards, it feels extra special this year to receive recognition for exceptional guest experiences given the constraints of Covid.”
Dromoland Castle in Co Clare was named as Ireland’s Leading Boutique Hotel.
