Lavender Hair Design in Cork opens new premises
Lavender Hair Design in Macroom, Co Cork has opened a brand new 12-seater premises.
Owned by Patricia McCarthy, the new outlet is next door to the original Lavender Hair Design.
Prior to opening her own business, McCarthy had been living and working in the Cotswolds in the UK for two years. Before she moved to the UK, she was based in Killarney, Co Kerry, where she worked in Peter Mark.
When she moved home from the UK, she initially rented two chairs in a salon for eight months, before going on to open her own four-seater salon in Macroom.
Now three years later, she has expanded the business into a 12-seater salon, with additional staff joining the team.
“This time last year, there was three of us, and now we have a team of 11,” said McCarthy. “I wanted to provide a beautiful fresh space for my team and my clients, and to welcome new clients. It was the hardest thing I have done in my life so far, but I built this salon from my heart.
“I wrote in my journal in January that I wanted to open a bigger salon, and here I am with a great team supporting me along the way. Richard Barry at Xpert Professional took so much time to help me pick what I wanted, without overwhelming me – he kept the plan simple, and it worked. I opted for Pahi and Takumi salon furniture.
“Lavender is inspired by its own name. The purple of the lavender is complemented by green and natural wooden textures. I am passionate about my space having a calm atmosphere and a feeling of freedom, both for myself, my team and my clients. If we all feel good, we can share the feeling with others.”
