Make your spa stand out from the competition

This year sees the exciting launch of the PBHJ Beauty, Hair and Spa Awards, which are taking place on 7 November at Citywest in Dublin.

With two streams of categories showcasing the very best in the Irish beauty and hair sectors, there are three categories aimed at spas and spa professionals.

Recognised globally for its standard of excellence, the reopening of the Irish spa sector has been hugely successful. The pandemic has brought about a renewed focus on wellness and self-care, which means spas, teams and therapists are busier than ever. Therefore, there is no time like the present to build on this momentum by entering the PBHJ Awards in the spa category that suits you best!

The Spa of the Year category recognises exceptional spas that opened before the end of October 2019. To qualify for this category, the spa must offer water and/or steam facilities (for example, pool, hot tubs, steam room, sauna). To enter, you will need to give examples of your operational and marketing activity; outline your therapists’ qualifications and your ongoing training and development policy, including dates of most recent CPD; upload at least two high-resolution images of your business; and upload your treatment menu.

The Therapist of the Year category sponsored by VTCT/iTEC is open to any beauty therapist who has been working in a salon, spa, clinic or as a mobile therapist since at least the end of 2019. Therapists who work from their own homes are also eligible to enter. Finalists in this category will be required to attend a virtual interview, which will be held on Wednesday, 22 September or Thursday, 23 September 2021. Entry criteria includes copies of certificates, a CV and a high-resolution image of the applicant.

The Beauty Salon or Spa Team of the Year category is open to teams of three or more, encompassing all relevant employees from reception and front of house, to therapist and manager. To enter, you will need to provide examples of external PR that relates to your team; descriptions of how everyone has worked together and what has been achieved; accounts of team building initiatives that have promoted integration; and a high-resolution image of the team.

So what are you waiting for? Now is the time to enter your chosen category and tell us what makes you the best! For more information about the categories and how to enter, click here.
