Peter Mark begins 60th anniversary celebration

Peter Mark is celebrating 60 years in business this year after launching its first salon on Dublin’s Grafton Street in 1961.

Founded by brothers Peter and Mark Keaveney, the company now has 67 salons on the island of Ireland.

To mark its 60th anniversary, it has been sharing a range of different images from the Peter Mark archive on its social media, showing a variety of trends and looks created over the decades.

“When we launched our first salon on Grafton Street in 1961, we had a vision,” said Mark Keaveney. “That vision was to be at the forefront of style, shaping the trends of Irish hair and to perfect the ultimate client experience using innovative and creative skills. I am proud to say that vision still rings true today.

“We continue to innovate and create, and we have an amazingly talented team who do incredible work. There is no doubt that the last 18 months has been one of the most challenging times I can recall for hairdressing, but I am confident that the industry will continue to thrive. The pandemic has given people a new-found appreciation for hairdressing and the role it plays in our lives.

“When I look to the future and the calibre of people, we have working for us and going through our training college, I am confident that the future of the industry is extremely bright.”
