Professional Beauty & Hair adds Nail Competitions to show line-up

Professional Beauty & Hair, in partnership with Irish Beauty, is taking place at the RDS on 6-7 November, with Nail Competitions now added to the line-up.

These contests will give nail techs the chance to show off their skills and battle it out for the chance to raise their profile in the industry.

Among the categories are Competition Nail, which asks entrants to create the perfect, classic competition nail in pink and white in a system of their choice (liquid and powder or UV cured gel products), with either tip and overlay or sculpt.

The Learn a Skill category involves entrants being asked to watch the live skill demo by Glitterbels, learn a skill, repeat the skill and then make their twist on the skill.

For the Gel Polish category, entrants must demonstrate accurate and safe application of UV gel polish to both hands.

Meanwhile, the InstaNail Photographic is asking nail techs to create a photo they would be proud to showcase on their business Instagram page, then send a video on how they created the nails and photo. Send this to us on Instagram and post the nails, making sure you tag us and use the #HalloweenNailComp.

There will be two awards for this category – an online public vote where the photo that’s most popular will win the Voters’ Choice Award. The professional competition judging team will score all images based on set judging criteria and scores and the traditional first, second and third placings will be awarded. The entry deadline for this is 1 November.
