Tayto Park theme park to build hotel and spa

Theme park Tayto Park has outlined plans to build a €48 million, 250-bedroom hotel with a spa.

The Ashbourne-based amusement park and zoo lodged a planning application with Meath County Council, according to the Irish Times.

The owners have proposed a wooden structure “designed to be in keeping with the look and feel of Tayto Park”, which will have seven floors over 32,000sq m building will offer accommodation and leisure facilities for up to 1,000 guests. 

Tayto Park estimated that the development would provide 272 full and part-time jobs when completed.
