Voya announces sustainability collaboration with Plastic Bank

Voya has announced a new partnership with Plastic Bank, a social enterprise working to stop plastic from entering the ocean.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Co Sligo, Voya specialises in seaweed-based facial and body products, using extracts from seaweed sustainably hand-harvested on the west coast of Ireland.
Currently operating in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, and the Philippines, Plastic Bank has ethical plastic collection branches within 50 kilometres of coastlines and waterways.
In collaboration with Plastic Bank, Voya has now pledged stop the equivalent of over two million single-use plastic bottles from entering the ocean. This is equivalent to over 45,000kg of plastic and means for every Voya product sold, the company will help to prevent 3 plastic bottles from entering the ocean.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Plastic Bank,” said Voya MD Mark Walton. “They are globally recognised as leaders and innovators in plastic recycling, and we hope to make a measurable environmental and social difference through our partnership with them.
“Voya’s commitment to sustainability is born from our heritage and our love and respect for the ocean. As plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental threats to our waters, threatening ecosystems and harming biodiversity, Voya is committed to finding a better way surrounding plastic use, including supporting enterprises like Plastic Bank.”
