Wexford's Monart Spa to open sister site in UK

The parent company of Irish destination spa resort Monart is to open a sister property in the UK in early 2019.

The owners of County Wexford's Monart Spa have partnered with Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate controlled by the Prince of Wales, along with Dorset-based building firm CG Fry, which is developing a town known as Poundbury close to Dorchester.

There are plans to add a large spa to the development’s Royal Pavilion main building, with naturally filled pools, a gym, thermal facilities and treatment rooms, according to reports.

Monart has created a new company for the UK launch called Monart International. Its filing at the Companies Office said it will "develop and operate a deluxe destination spa facility in the UK...Monart House Hotel Ltd. will gain prestigious reputational benefits from the globalisation of the Monart brand."

Monart Spa in Co Wexford, Ireland is owned by the Griffin Group, which also owns the Ferrycarrig Hotel in Wexford and Hotel Kilkenny in Kilkenny.
