Irish Hairdressing Council (IHC) president Fiona Gainfort received the President’s Award at a special ceremony at OMC Hairworld 2025 in Paris in September.

Gainfort, along with IHC vice-president Melissa Hayward and lifetime honorary president Maeve O’Healy Harte, represented Ireland at the global event.

Over a thousand stylists from across the world were in the French capital for the occasion, where they showcased their creativity, technical skills and talent.

Founded in 1946 in Lyon, France, OMC (Organisation Mondiale Coiffure) represents over 50 member countries worldwide.

The IHC said that Gainfort’s award was a proud moment, as it recognises her leadership, passion for education, and dedication to advancing Irish hairdressing on the global stage.
