Hayward, who is also vice-president of the Irish Hairdressing Council, has trained thousands of hair professionals in Ireland and internationally, and the Melissa Hayward Academy has received multiple industry accolades in recent years.

She is a finalist in the Educator of the Year category at the Beauty, Hair and Spa Awards 2026. which are taking place at the InterContinental Dublin on 19 April, as part of the Professional Beauty & Hair show weekend.
