Alterna Haircare wins two Global Green Beauty Awards

Alterna Haircare has won two Global Green Beauty Awards for products in its My Hair My Canvas collection.

My Hair My Canvas Meltaway No-Rinse Micellar Cleanser won gold for Best Vegan Hair Product, while My Hair My Canvas Cool Hydrations Nourishing Masque won silver in the same category.

The Global Green Beauty Awards celebrate the best of natural, organic, green and clean beauty. Focused on green and clean beauty products, they aim to reflect that shift in what clients are looking for, as they are more conscious than ever of not just what they are putting on their hair and skin, but the ethics surrounding those products. They are concerned with issues such as how the ingredients are sourced, if they are organic and if the packaging is natural.

With these issues in mind, the Global Green Beauty Awards chooses product categories and recognises brands that want to reflect this greener ethos.

Founded in 1997 in the Beverly Hills in the US, Alterna Haircare creates premium products for stylists and clients alike. Known for its sustainability approach, the brand’s products are customised for specific hair types. Formulas are 100% vegan, with all bottles and tubes made of 50% post-consumer recycled plastic with twist-open and close pumps to minimise plastic waste. 

Alterna is distributed in Ireland by Xpert Professional, which recently announced the appointment of Audrey Shanley as the brand's development manager.
