ghd launches search for hairdressers to join Style Squad 2022

ghd has launched its search for the Style Squad 2022, with the audition process now under way.
Those selected will join the team of ghd educators, ambassadors and guest artists on a year-long mentoring programme, participating in key events and honing their styling and presentation skills.
The audition process is open to anyone currently training or with under two years’ hairdressing experience, and the two-step process begins with a social media entry.
Those interested must create a look inspired by the hair they love, upload a still image of the final look, and upload a short video (up to one minute long) showing how they created the look, showcasing technique and dressing out using ghd tools. On Instagram, they must tag @ghdhairpro, using the hashtag #ghdstylesquad2022. ghd has reminded entrants to make sure their profile is set to ‘public’ so that it can see the entries.
Entries close on 1 September 2021 and those shortlisted will be invited to stage two – the studio auditions – which take place in London on 15 and 16 September.
Prior to this, finalists will be asked to create a mood board based on a designer that inspires them. On the day, they will have a one-hour time slot to create a look on a model or doll’s head in a style inspired by their chosen designer, using the ghd product range. This will be followed by a five-minute presentation, explaining the inspiration, mood board and final look to the panel of ghd judges.
“The ghd Style Squad is an amazing opportunity for anyone looking to make the next step in their career,” said Janine Jennings, ghd head of education UK and ROI. “You will get to meet and work with your hairdressing icons, be a crucial player in the hottest events throughout the year and level up your skill set. I’d encourage anyone serious about a future in hairdressing to apply for a place – it really could change your life.”
