Image Skillnet offering virtual classroom training to professionals

Image Skillnet is running an online course this week for any training professionals looking to take their classroom sessions onto a virtual platform.

Virtual Classroom Essentials Training is being delivered by John Kilroy of Flex Labs and Harvest Resources, in conjunction with the Irish Institute of Training & Development. Held over a week, from Tuesday, 7 April to Wednesday, 15 April, it includes two live virtual classrooms for two hours each day plus independent learning for the week.

According to Image Skillnet, the programme is tailored for all training and education professionals who need to quickly transform classroom sessions into engaging virtual delivery. Participants will gain an insight into best practice approaches for the design and delivery of interactive and engaging live classroom sessions, and gain first-hand experience of the virtual classroom environment.

This fully online, practical course is delivered over the week using a blend of online resources, virtual classroom and social learning. Participants will be actively working on designing their own virtual classroom during the programme.

The Virtual Classroom Essentials programme is an endorsed and awarded programme of the Irish Institute of Training & Development. Modules and topics covered include fundamentals of instructional design for virtual classrooms;creating your virtual classroom storyboard; virtual classroom interactive tools; preparing for your virtual classroom; facilitating a virtual classroom; and virtual classroom software and technology.

The course, which costs €250 for members and €350 for non-members, promises that upon completion of the training participants will have learned how to quickly transition a classroom session to virtual delivery; design highly engaging, interactive live online sessions; and practise the core skills for facilitating an interactive virtual classroom using a range of tools such as breakout sessions, live chat, polls, moderated Q & As and video asset integration.

Image Skillnet supports the hair and beauty sector, offering industry-led training and networking. Its training is part-funded by member companies and the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills.
