Image Skillnet running Diversity and Inclusion Training courses

Image Skillnet with the Irish Centre for Diversity is running Diversity and Inclusion Training courses that are especially designed for professionals who are working within the personal grooming industry.
With three groups beginning on 17 and 18 May, the courses are free for Image Skillnet and Hair and Beauty Industry Confederation (Habic) members.
The programme aims to address current and future diversity and inclusion skills, and knowledge needed within the industry. Its primary focus will be inclusive practice and leadership, resulting in inclusion for all clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
Delivery will take place online, using presentations, group Q&As, discussions, case studies, videos, and contemporary articles and reports.
Each session will cover a different topic, including an introduction to equality, diversity and inclusion; legislation and discrimination; bias and unconscious bias; cultural and race awareness; meeting the needs of different groups, such as LGBTQ+; disability and mental health; the business case for inclusion; and salon action plans going forward.
The programme aims to have a range of outcomes, whereby clients from all demographics of society who engage with the personal grooming industry will feel valued and respected; leaders, managers and staff in the personal grooming industry will ensure legal obligations relating to diversity and inclusion are adhered to; and leaders, managers and employees in the personal grooming industry will create an inclusive culture that promotes diversity.
A CPD certificate will be issued to participants upon completion of the programme.
