Platinum Hair Extensions CEO wins Image Businesswoman of the Year Award
The CEO of Platinum Hair Extensions Onagh Chira has been named Young Businesswoman of the Year (Under 35) at the Image PWC Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2023.
The ceremony took place in Dublin's Clayton Hotel on 14 April, with 13 trophies being handed out to women across a range of industries.
Available in over 700 stockists worldwide, Chira has headed up Platinum Hair Extensions for the past 12 years, and became its sole owner last year. The business began in a small studio on Dublin’s South Anne Street with a team of three, catering solely to distribution.
Now it is an ethically-driven hair extensions company, operating three salons, an aftercare range and a wholesale business.
“It feels like such a dream to win this award,”said Chira. “Our team has grown from a few to 40, and I wish I could break this award into 40 tiny pieces to share with them all, along with my husband, who has been so supportive over the years.”
Meanwhile, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award was won by Suzanne Jackson. Jackson is the director and founder of SanFran Cosmetics and Cohar Ltd, the companies behind Sosu Cosmetics and Dripping Gold, which has a professional tanning line offering.
