Sean Taaffe returns as Rose of Tralee hair partner 

Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty has returned as the official hair partner to the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

The 2022 event is back after a three-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is taking place from 19-23 August, with the Rose selection televised live on 22 and 23 August on RTÉ.

Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty was established in Killorglin, Co Kerry in 1989. Since then, the award-winning company has expanded six times, and now has locations in Killarney, Tralee and Killorglin.

This year marks the 61st Rose of Tralee, and 33 Roses from all over the world will take part in the competition, before one of them is crowned Rose of Tralee 2022 live on RTE on 23 August.

This is Taaffe’s fifth year creating the hair looks for the Roses, and he said the team has busy been preparing in advance.

“We normally have a look at all the recent global events, what celebrities wore hair-wise, and what people liked and didn’t like,” he explained.

“Then we do up a mood board for the stylists with some inspo at these pre-event meetings. The huge thing for us as a team is that each style suits the individual Rose and her face shape, and complements her in every way.”
