Waxperts duo develop at-home waxing kit

The duo behind Waxperts have launched Heire, an at-home waxing kit that they developed during the lockdown.

Ellen Kavanagh and Trish O’Brien have more than 32 years of experience in waxing between them, and for 13 years they have been running Waxperts, a waxing-only salon in Dublin. Since 2012, they have been manufacturing and distributing their professional wax products to salons and spas, while planning to develop Heire at some point in the future.

“Any time we travelled we always went looking for home waxing products to see what was on offer,” said Kavanagh. “And no matter where we were – America, Bucharest, or Japan – the most choice seemed to be in the grocery stores beside the sanitary products and deodorants. And they were always a super garish colour with poor quality wax. We wanted something that looks beautiful on your bathroom shelf, but we also wanted it to have the best ingredients, the most innovative wax, and be easy to use.”

According to O’Brien, waxing is an intimate beauty treatment and there are a lot of people that prefer to control that within their own space. “We knew we could offer as near to a salon treatment as possible with our knowledge and product development expertise. We break down the ‘how to’ to help you get the best results and we will have video tutorials and clips on our social channels. And while we realise not everyone is a professional waxer, we want to try and help you get the very best results possible.”

The Heire Waxing Kit costs €10 and is now available to buy in a range of salons nationwide. The kit includes two pre-wax wipes and two post-wax wipes, 20 large wax strips, and 20 small wax strips for precision waxing.
