Wella Professionals launches search for next GenNOW team

Wella Professionals has launched its search for the GenNOW team for 2022/23.
The competition will see the five chosen stylists take part in a 12-month programme with four mentors who have been selected for their specific expertise. They include Michael Gray, who will be the digital mentor; Jordanna Cobella, the creative colour mentor; Syd Hayes, who will focus on session styling; and education mentor Nikki Clifford, who will prepare the team for educating the next generation of hairdressers.
Entry is open to all stylists based in Ireland or the UK, who are 18 years of age and over, with three to eight years’ experience. It’s not essential to be salon-based as freelance hairdressers are welcome to apply, however Wella Professionals said that a strong digital profile is a major advantage, along with a passion for cutting, colouring and styling combined.
“GenNOW is the most incredible platform for any hairdresser who is hungry to take their career to the next level,” said Cobella. “We’re going to have a great time getting creative and hopefully taking their skills to a whole new dimension. I am delighted to be one of the mentors, and am excited to meet the new team and get started.”
Entries open on 1 March via Instagram. Stylists will need to show examples of their work on the platform (pictures or video in a carousel swipe post, no stories), adding some information about themselves, and explaining why they want to be on the GenNOW Team
They’ll also need to use the hashtag #WellaGenNOW and tag @wellahairUKI. Successful entries will then go through to the audition stage at the Wella Studios, where they will be judged by the mentors. The entry deadline is 31 March 2022.
