Almost three-quarters (70%) of Irish women would choose a day of ‘me time’ at a spa over a romantic dinner with their partner, according to a new nationwide survey from Spas.ie.

The survey, which polled 1,000 Irish women, indicates a strong preference for self-care and relaxation, or a much-needed break from work and home stress.

“A visit to the spa is more than just a spa treatment,” said Orjana Krota, spa manager at The Marker in Dublin. “It’s an experience that leaves women ready to step back into the world feeling their best.”

Over 90% of Spas.ie gift vouchers are purchased for women, noted company director Juan Cullen. “Messages such as ‘relax on me’, ‘for all that you do’ or ‘enjoy baby-free time’ clearly indicate that Irish women are in need of a well-deserved spa break,” he added.
