Alan Austin-Smith, aka The Fantastic Hairdresser, is coming to Ireland to host two one-day seminars designed to reveal the winning formula for running a successful salon business.
Austin-Smith’s Passionate Profit tour is heading to venues around Ireland and the UK, with the first Irish seminar to take place in The Kingsley in Cork on 20 May.
Sponsored by salon software brand Floomly, the event will explore the idea that successful businesses cannot thrive on passion alone, but that solely focusing on profit also won’t inspire a team. However, combining the two factors – passion and profit – creates a ‘secret sauce’ that is the magic ingredient of the most celebrated businesses.
Passionate Profit will see Austin-Smith examine the pitfalls of passion-only businesses and reveal why relying solely on passion can lead to burnout. He’ll also share his insight into the dangers of profit-driven approaches without genuine passion, and how this
can affect your team’s motivation and your salon’s long-term success.
The seminar will include advice on how to successfully merge the two elements to strike the perfect harmony between passion and profit, creating a salon that not only thrives financially, but one that is also a fulfilling and inspiring workspace.
“A business needs to be profitable enough to do two things – reinvest in the business, as well as benefit the owner,” said Austin-Smith. “If the business isn’t profitable enough to do both, then there is either no re-investment in the team, the business, the marketing and training, or there is nothing left for the owner of the business, leading to tiredness, stress and a lack of balance, whilst wondering why on earth they are doing this.
